Working With Teams Essay The scenario is inaccurate coding and lack of patient information which delays payments for the doctor. As head of the billing department a process will be implemented to solve problems on this issue. The current process is not working and because of the loss of productivity, a team was assembled to solve problems. The goal is to find where the error is, and recoup the loss revenue. The first person to question would be the front office personal who checks in a patient upon arrival. After getting the insurance card and demographic page, it is important to compare that information on file to be certain it is accurate, and up to date. A copy of the insurance card should be taken at every visit. Even if the patient were there just there a few weeks ago, it is important to establish a routine of quality. Second, the front office personal should check the insurance carrier to see if a referral is necessary. However, most insurance carriers do not require a referral for family practice it is advantageous to determine if the doctor is in network. When the patient is called back to their examining room, the medical assistant will ask for the reason for the visit. It is up to medical assistant to write down the signs and symptoms of the patient. The documentation must be detailed and recorded properly on the patients face sheet. The department manager of nurses should be scrubbing the documentation before it is submitted to the billing department. For example, if a patient has a routine check and the physician decides to order labs, the lab draw must be documented; even though it was not the reason for the visit. The communication starts with the first point of contact, which is the front office. This person must be detailed, efficient and willing to ask questions without hesitation. They do not assume or fill in the blanks. They are assertive and responsible, to answer staff questions. Without this, the team will spiral downward like a domino effect. For example, the check out personal will not be able to excuse the patient without collecting the co pay. The co pay is not determined unless the insurance is entered correctly by the front office. Keeping in mind the group of people has a variety of experience, skills and talents working to help each other achieve a common goal. The group has the task of problem solving why the billing codes are incorrect, and where the missing link is for payment. Each person will be responsible for their role. Selecting the team by department will make sure all employees are contributing to their individual duty and this will equal success. There will be one leader, a couple of nurses to scrub the documentation for errors, two administration personal to make sure the demographics and insurance information is correct. A person from the billing department who will run a report from the last 120 days. The doctor also needs a friendly reminder, to document according to the procedure. The doctor must know that treating patients is not their sole responsibility in an office. Consequently, all team members were selected according to their talents and skill level. Furthermore, a conflict may ignite if communication is not open. Hence, one person might feel an idea or strategy is not helpful to reach the goal. Although, good teamwork creates a positive environment. If there is a heated disagreement, it can lower the mood, and demotivate the rest of the team. However, according to Cheesebro, (2010) Conflict is healthy in certain situations, because it will bring a team together. Research has shown, employees who feel part of a strong team are happier and more productive. An acronym for team is: trust, empathy, attitude and mutual respect. In conclusion, the best way to avoid future billing failures is to call the insurance company. According to University of Florida, College of Medicine, (2010) Cigna, United Health Care, Medicare and Medicaid will notify the billing office the reasons for denial. It could be as simple as the birth date does not match what is on the enrollment application. A modifier was not placed after an International Classification of Disease, 9th Revision (IDC-9) code. Perhaps the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) was entered as a 4 digit code instead of a 5 digit code. Even though a report will catch this error, if a person overlooks uploads it electronically anyway, it will be denied. Throughout this paper, I will expand on why this short story, has to do with a man by the name of Charles Darwin. Charles Darwin (1809-1882) was a failed medical school student, who finally received his B.A. degree in Biology. His schooling was finished up at Cambridge. If anyone is at all familiar with Darwin, they know his beliefs are pretty much the exact opposite of the Christian Theology. What strikes me, as strange, is that Darwin, when younger, was a Clergyman at the Church of England. As I will elaborate later on in this paper, he went from a religious clergyman, to questioning his beliefs, to even stating some of the most non-religious Theories known to man. As an unpaid Naturalist, he traveled on the H.M.S. Beagle, across the coastline of South America. While being dropped off and left on the Galapagos Islands for a number of days, he began to watch the species on the Island. To sum it up, He watched, for many days, Nature run its course. Throughout this time, and even after, he started to develop ideas about how he thought species survived. How they do survive, and how they should survive. This has to do with one of his greatest theories of all, Natural Selection. As I explained earlier about â€Å"the survival for existence†, Darwin developed a theory that explained how the most fit, biggest, and better of all the species have they opportunity to live on and survive. The weak, and less fortunate are able to compete for food, or other survival musts. He coined these thoughts along with a fellow Naturalist, Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913). Wallace actually gathered his evidence in Indonesia. This theory in which these two men established has been critiqued for years.

Multivitamin

In my house I have two types of multivitamins on hand. I have Marvel’s, The Amazing Spider-man complete multiple Vitamin and Mineral Supplement with DHA. I also have Equate Woman’s One Daily with calcium, Iron, and Zinc multivitamin and Mineral Supplement. My son, although an adult, prefers the taste of a chewable, which is why I have Spider-man vitamins on hand for a 20 year old. The benefit of taking either of these vitamins every day is that no matter what you eat each day, since a daily diet usually varies, your body is guaranteed to receive at least the minimum amount of essential vitamins and minerals a body needs to perform at its best. Almost every person has a day where they didn’t eat breakfast, or maybe they skipped lunch, the vitamin, helps to replace what they missed in getting from the nutrients given to a body through food. For instance, I do not drink a lot of milk. Therefore, unless I am eating a larger amount of other dairy products to compensate, I need a vitamin that contains calcium to support my bone growth, structure, and to prevent osteoporosis since I am in my 40’s. While not having enough vitamins and minerals in your body can cause many health related problems, over taking them can also cause health problems. They fact is that most vitamins and minerals are absorbed into the body, and eating a healthy diet with only one supplement can keep a person healthy and balanced. However, most people do not eat a healthy diet, therefore the supplements can help keep them on track. One must keep in mind as well though that some people over use supplements thinking they are increasing their health when the reality is they may be causing the very problems they are trying to prevent. The textbook relates to a study showing that too much pyridoxine caused people to lose the ability to walk (Chapter 8: The Vitamins, n.d.), whereas not enough was thought to cause anxiety and depression. The text also explains how sailors did not get scurvy when they took vitamin C. Too much vitamin C causes stomach ailments. Based on the guidelines, in my home, vitamins are needed. We do not eat a proper healthy diet that would contain all the correct amounts of vitamins and minerals our bodies need to support good health. Taking a vitamin everyday, which we do, makes me feel a little bit better about the state of our health and daily diet.

Hotels have to play a very important part in this, as they are the ones who can advertise on popular social media platforms and get the tourist excited by their offering, with the public sector involved they can rework on the prices and the strategy to lure the tourist and work alongside the hotel industry to come up with a strong solution and bring positive figures of tourism in the region. Tourism is known to be one of the most economically important industries which are also the most vulnerable to crisis and disasters. The study by Brent, Ritchie, John Anita is focussed on measuring the short term impact of the incidence of 2010 BP Gulf oil crisis. The year 2010 is sadly remembered as one of the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history which occurred in Gulf of Mexico, approximately 4.9 million barrels of oil leaked into the waters for a period of three years. It was a tragic incident, also as the area is surrounded by the coastal areas and it survives on tourism industry as it creates many jobs for the local community of the area. This incident certainly hurt their livelihood and the revenue they extract from tourism. The aftermath of oil spill is bad for the entire ecosystem, not only the tourist destinations are affected by the oil spill, but the tourism industry faces serious impact on its reputation. This in turn strongly influences peoples decision to visit and spend the time in that particular community. Ritchie, Crotts, Zehrer Volsky strongly connected this crisis with fall in revenue at the tourist destination. In accordance to the study conducted, around 25% of the businesses did not re-open due to the crisis. The oil spill had an impact on over 7.3 million businesses throughout Alabama, Florida Texas, which affected 34.4 million employees and $5.2 trillion in sales volume. The hospitality industry too suffered a major blow because of the crisis 60% of the hotels which were surveyed had experienced more than 50 % cancellations. In the same time frame, 42% of the hotels experienced difficulty booking for future events In totality, the overall lower room occupancy, lower restaurant filling, less occupied meeting space resulted in loss of revenue for the region. Collective actions are required both from the local community and the tourism authority to not let such incidents hamper the business revenue. The revenue is provides livelihood to thousands of people and the entire economy of the state is dependent on it, therefore, the corrective action has to be taken in full swing The author Tomazos here has explained that while the other tourist destinations are flourishing due to better communication, globalization, improvement in the infrastructure and other such factors, the countries of the Arab world are falling backwards in terms of tourism due to its crisis situations. Such countries are unstable due to the waves of political unrest known as Arab spring, which affected the tourism sector adversely. Finding the right mechanism to overcome the crisis situation and do a recovery of the tourism sector. Uncovering of the economic impacts in order to find possible solutions to the problem There were a category of countries which saw a sudden surge in the tourist visits. UAE, Turkey, Israel saw a huge influx of tourists visiting the country. Some of these countries benefited from the Arab spring as many European tourists visited the place to review the situation and ended up staying for a longer time, it was a blessing in a disguise situation for these countries. As the tourism sector was showing a positive growth, it was only the Arab world which took a hit due to political instability in the area. Some countries like UAE, Turkey did take advantage of this political situation, but they have to learn a lesson to manage large number of unexpected crowd. It is advised that the strategists and the policy make have to take effects to not let tourist suffer due to political unrest in the valley. Author has suggested investing highly in tourism activities and developing more and more infrastructure and destinations which can catch tourists attention. The author has strongly recommended establishing common tourism projects which have high efficiency and are not limited to the traditional services. It has also been observed that there is a dire need to build and form special security agencies dedication to the situation of crisis management and dedicate the services only towards fighting the security problems during the crisis and not let the tourism sector suffer because of any other situation of political unrest.
